Lahore Qalandars Crush Karachi Kings by 65 Runs in Epic Showdown

On April 16th, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Rishad Hossain led Lahore Qalandars to victory against Karachi Kings with a margin of 65 runs during their PSL 8 match held on Tuesday. In this contest, Fakhar Zaman and Daryl Mitchell both achieved scores over fifty, setting an ambitious target of 202-runs for Karachi Kings. When Lahore Qalandars decided to start batting, they faced early setbacks losing two rapid wickets; Mohammad Naeem managed only seven runs before being out. Following him, Abdullah Shafique briefly partnered with Fakhar Zaman but had his stay cut short at just six points when the score read 25-2 within 3.5 overs. Fakhar Zaman and Daryl Mitchell subsequently formed a crucial alliance, building a robust stand worth 125 runs which significantly bolstered Lahore’s standing. This collaboration concluded once Fakhar Zaman left the field having notched up 75 from 47 deliveries including six boundaries and five maximums. Subsequently, Sam Billings came together with Daryl Mitchell adding another impressive contribution of 19 runs off merely ten balls. Daryl Mitchell too played impressively until he retired with a fine tally of 75 runs derived from 41 pitches containing nine fours alongside two towering hits beyond the ropes. On Karachi King’s side, notable performances included Hasan Ali securing four scalps whereas Abbas Afridi claimed one among others.
