On Sunday, the Highlanders returned to their victorious form with a narrow 1-0 victory against longtime adversaries CAPS United in the city derby held at Barbourfields Stadium.
The triumph proved incredibly sweet for Bosso as it snapped their three-match winless run in the current season.
Determined to find a silver lining, Bosso capitalized on their scoring momentum, with Reason Sibanda securing a goal in the fourth minute of the opening period.
The Bulawayo Giants lead the league with nine goals, making them the top-scoring team. They stand out as the sole club to have scored in each match day this season.
Even though his team secured full points, Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu remained unimpressed.
This is a positive win for our side; despite not playing up to expectations, we managed to secure full points.
The outcome of this match was uncertain, yet with some fortune, we might have netted two or additional goals.
In each match, we have been successful at scoring goals, and if we keep this up, I am confident that things will go well for us.
"Caps United gave their all during this match, and I am confident that if they can maintain this level of performance in future games, better outcomes will follow," stated Kaindu.
CAPS United have secured four points from a potential 18 available after playing six matches.
Currently, The Green Machine holds the second-to-last spot (17th place) on the leaderboard with just four points, placing them 10 points behind the leading team, MWOS.
Pressure is already building up for team head coach Lloyd Chitembwe, following an altercation with club supporters at Rufaro Stadium the previous week, after they lost 2-1 to Ngezi Platinum Stars.
Chitembwe failed to appear for the post-match interview following the game with Highlanders; instead, his assistant Tonderai Marume took his place. Marume feels that luck was simply not in their favor during the match.
Unfortunately, when considering the first half of the game, we performed admirably yet Lady Luck was not with us.
At one point, we had multiple opportunities that were thwarted by the woodwork.
"Regardless, such occurrences are part of football. Moving ahead, we must focus on shaping our players' mentality," stated Marume.
