Ex-MMA legend Conor McGregor suffered a loss of $500,000 when he bet on Michael Chandler to win against Paddy Pimblett in a UFC fight.
Before the event at the Kaseya Center, a versatile venue in Miami, Florida, scheduled for April 13, McGregor was quite engaged on social media platforms.
The Irish gambler put down a $500,000 wager on Chandler to defeat Pimblett at the UFC 314 fight. Prior to the match, McGregor shared a clip of himself working out beside a tennis court, suggesting a possible return as he mentioned both the UFC and their management firm, TKO, in his post.

Upon restarting, Chandler tried to seize control with a grappling move; however, he lost balance and fell. This misstep allowed Pimblett to secure a chokehold and rain down elbow strikes.
The pivotal moment occurred during the fourth round when Pimblett delivered a soaring knee strike, opening up a wound on Chandler’s cheek and causing him to bleed profusely. Following this, Pimblett managed to take Chandler down and unleashed several powerful blows. Recognizing Chandler was unable to continue, the referee intervened and declared Pimblett victorious via technical knockout.
Pimblett's win elevated him to become a contender for the lightweight title. Following this, he criticized McGregor.
