Rajat Patidar reaches milestone, second-fastest Indian to score1,000 IPL runs

Bengaluru (Karnataka), India, April 18 (ANI): Royal Challengers Bengaluru ( RCB ) captain Rajat Patidar has carved his name into the Indian Premier League (IPL) records by achieving the second-quickest Indian tally of 1000 runs in the competition’s annals. Patidar accomplished this feat in 30 matches, ranking him just below Gujarat Titans' Sai Sudharsan, who attained the same milestone in 25 innings.

The elegant right-handed batsman narrowly surpassed distinguished players like Sachin Tendulkar and Ruturaj Gaikwad, who each required 31 matches to achieve this mark. Following close behind for the Mumbai Indians is Tilak Varma, reaching over 1000 IPL runs in just his 33rd outing.

What distinguishes Patidar is his remarkable accomplishment—being the inaugural Indian batsman in IPL records to amass more than 1000 runs with an average exceeding 35 and maintaining a strike rate higher than 150. This feat highlights both his reliability and influence, particularly when facing intense pressure moments, positioning him as one of India’s most promising talents within today’s T20 league landscape.

With RCB banking on his leadership and explosive batting, Patidar's form will be key to their campaign going forward. Though he could not contribute much to today's game in Bengaluru against the Punjab Kings , as he could manage 23 off 18 balls.
