Garrison Triumphs as Champions in Army Brigade Showdown

PORT HARCOURT – The 6 Division Garrison has been crowned the winner of the Nigerian Army’s 2025 Inter-Brigade Competition, held at the 6 Division Physical Training Ground in Port Harcourt Barracks. They secured 6 gold medals and 1 bronze medal.

The four-day competition witnessed 2 Brigade securing second place with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze medals, whereas 16 Brigade claimed third position with 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

The event showcased an intense and enthusiastic competition among the participating units.

Shortly after the conclusion of the closing ceremony on Thursday, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, who leads the 6 Division Nigerian Army, commended all participants and particularly hailed the victorious team from the 6 Division Garrison.

Major General Emekah praised the participants' enthusiasm for the sport, calling it genuinely inspirational.

He expressed happiness over the level of camaraderie and esprit de corps seen among the brigades.

Emekah said, “As we bring the 6 Division Inter-Brigade Sports Competition 2025 to a close, I congratulate all and most especially the winning team for their outstanding performance and sportsmanship.
