Bauchi Assures Victory as Sports Festival Kicks Off on April 22

The government of Bauchi State remains confident that it will triumph at the upcoming 2025, 22nd National Sports Festival scheduled for Ogun State.

The State Deputy Governor, Auwal Jatau, provided this guarantee on Saturday when he disclosed that Governor Bala Mohammed had sanctioned the involvement of their state in the upcoming event.

During his meeting with athletes, coaches, and officials from the National Sports Commission, who visited out of solidarity at the Government House in Bauchi, Jatau expressed gratitude to the governor for granting approval. He mentioned that plans were underway to make sure the state’s athletes could participate comprehensively and perform well in the upcoming festival.

He remembered that Bauchi State's involvement in the National Sports Festival from its start in 1976 has continuously highlighted athletes' skills in events like athletics, boxing, football, and various other major sporting categories, earning numerous medals for the state.

He said, "I am thrilled to be awarded the Torch of Unity for the 22nd National Sports Festival called 'Gateway Games 2025.' This torch typically represents unity, peace, friendship, and tolerance amongst Nigerians."

Therefore, he praised the NSC and the festival committee for establishing a platform that encourages youth growth, talent identification, and national unity.

As for Ms. Ikana, who represents the organizers, she praised Mohammed for his government's commitment to investing in sports activities.

She assured that the Commission will keep supporting Bauchi to thrive in sports competitions.
